Via Romana gets three silver in Catavinum World Wine

We have received the fantastic news that our wines from the D.O. Ribeira Sacra have been awarded in the international contest Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition 2018 with three silver medals.
In this latest edition, the number of samples amounted to 3,374, which means that this recognition is very special for us.
Via Romana Mencía Añada 2016 has 120,000 bottles, fruit of the 2016 vintage, with a minimum aging of 8 months in a steel tank at a controlled temperature, in addition to 6 months in the bottle. With less than a month on the market this wine covered by the D.O. Ribeira Sacra already has its first silver medal.
Via Romana Godello 2016, is the result of a demanding production with reduced production to offer all the complexity and elegance of the godello grape. A heroic and totally manual harvest, followed by destemming, and with fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature made it possible for our star target to obtain this award.
VR Barrica 2014 comes from our oldest vines with yields around 1kg. of fruit per vine which assures us one of our main purposes: quality in our wines. VR Barrica aims to demonstrate the latent potential of the Ribeira Sacra, wine that remained between 7 and 11 months, in French oak barrels and another 6 months in the bottle and although it is not currently on the market, it already has its first international recognition.
